Prairie Days 2011
_We drove to
Dagleys, stopping in Bismarck to do some shopping & errands. For the
rest of that day & the next we helped get ready for Prairie Days.
The morning of Prairie Days dawned bright and everyone was full of
excitement. Homemade things poured into the Trading Post and setting up
the registration table kept me busy for a long time. We greeted people,
prepared and cleaned up after lunch and fellowshipped for the rest of
the afternoon. That evening we had a very good turnout for the Spelling
Bee.
The next day more people arrived and more stuff for the Trading Post. I finally got everything set up and tried to watch both the Trading Post and the Registration Table while overseeing the setting up of the Handwork Show and Tell. I ate lunch quickly then we three little girls changed into our Guess-Who Character costumes and did our short little presentations. I then ran around giving people name tags that I had made the month before and sheets to write who they thought everybody was. Soon after I helped Susanna set up the Cloth Diaper Demo and enjoyed showing people how to diaper dolls. Late that afternoon it began to rain & with the help of lots of people we quickly got the Trading Post in the empty school bus. After another hour I finally got it all set up again. I then quickly got into the newly washed outdoors for the most wonderful dancing I have ever been apart of. A Campfire too soon ended a wonderful and full day. The next day we had good fellowship and a relatively quite day except the headache of trying to figure out how to pay everyone for their part in the Trading Post. After the men’s meeting all the girls sang “D is for Daddy” to the men. We said goodbye to most of the people before dinner, though a few people stayed until the next morning.
